Python for refugees

By Afrodjango initiative

python for refugees

This is a python training program aimed at providing python training skills to refugees in Uganda. Currently Uganda is hosting over a million refugees mainly from South Sudan, D.R Congo, Somalia and Burundi who fled their home countries due to conflicts. Refugees have found it hard to acquire education and sustainable skills that may help them get jobs in the host country and in their home country when they happen to go back. Therefore, Afrodjango initiative has come up with a program to provide python programming and software development skills to refugee communities living Uganda and this includes: special arrangements in settlement camps and urban surbubs.

The core objective

The program is aimed at training 1000 refugees each year in the fields of digital literacy and python programming technologies
